The Web/Graphic Designer designs and manages the University website and produces any required graphical imaging (print and electronic) as required by the Department of External Affairs. Primary areas of responsibility are as follows:

* Manages the university website cultivating user-friendly architecture, creative graphical design and system security. * Designs, coordinates and maintains creative graphical imaging for the website that best represents the mission and vision of the University. * Ensures university websites meet applicable usability standards. * Researches and implements new web technology as needed to improve university web services. * Ensures proper documentation, back-up of mission critical information and archival of legacy applications and files as required by the department and related to website and graphic design. * Provides support for web editors and manages content for usability and mobile accessibility. * Ensures the web adheres to university-wide style guidelines * Works with other web systems staff to develop effective web based application that are scalable, customizable, user friendly and accessible for end users. * Monitors site traffic and helps scale site capacity to meet traffic demands and performance expectations. * Manages external inquiries to web master.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communication, multi-media, journalism, design or a combination of education and experience that yields the required knowledge, skills and abilities in graphic design and web development (able to demonstrate through a portfolio). In addition, experience as a webmaster or web developer/designer, or related graphic design experience is required. Success in this position requires an active creativity in graphic design and ability to apply graphic design in an electronic environment.

Technical requirements include: * Ability to design well-formed HTML CSS standards-compliant pages and work with ColdFusion and PHP that interface with a SQL Server database * Ability to manage multiple websites on two domains with Dreamweaver and IIS * Knowledge of server configuration, security, FTP management, networking protocols and authentication. * Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
